Serendipity - the art of making happy and unexpected discoveries. The word comes from an early name for Sri Lanka "Serendib", and so far accurately describes this adventure... We imagine this blog will be informative and we'll try to make it entertaining. We hope it will be inspiring. Most of all we hope it will allow us to connect with our farflung community of family and friends, and you to connect with us.

Awesome pictures, thanks so much for posting them. I really like your skirt, Al (the blue patchy one) and Scott's stripy shirt too. I bet you will come back with lots of unique things (other than your memories of course)
Love you! Silas says "bha".
wow, the area looks amazing. What's the sun set/sun rise like over there?
Scott & Alanna,
Its been great fun to follow you and your travels. Thanks for sharing all the photo's. It reminds me of India. Two questions you got to address in the blog...do they use eastern toilets...and what do you think of them? Secondly, do they have "pon" - in India...people chewed this gross stuff that turned their teeth red. Let us know.
You are in our prayers.
Doug S.
